Dr. Julien Schulberg
Specialist Gastroenterologist & Obesity Management Expert
Dr Julien Schulberg is a specialist gastroenterologist with an interest in obesity management, bariatric endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis), cancer surveillance, functional GI disorders and liver disease. He completed internal medicine and specialist gastroenterology training at St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Northern Hospital and The Austin hospital and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. Julien has trained overseas in Milan, Italy, in intestinal ultrasound and is accredited by the International Bowel Ultrasound Group (IBUS).
As an NHMRC post graduate fellow, Julien completed his PhD in 2021 at the University of Melbourne. Julien was awarded the young investigator award at the Australian National Gastroenterology Conference in 2021 and the Oral Abstract award at the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO) conference in 2023. Julien has presented at multiple national and international conferences and has multiple peer review publications. In his spare time Julien enjoys middle distance running, playing the violin and spending time with his 3 young children.
